MEN'S HEALTH MONTH Feature: Heart Health amongst Young Black Men

Heart Health is something that should be thought about at every age. In the state that we live in, with so much going on in the world, we need to consider taking care of ourselves at an optimum level. Young men, especially our young black men, need to take an inventory of their lives now, instead of walking into their 30's, 40's, 50's and even 60's, with health issues that could have been avoided.

Studies have shown an increase in heart attacks, heart disease, cholesterol issues, and the like among men in general. Stress and anger have increased amongst our young black men, causing bad diets, lack of exercise, and care for their bodies. 'I have all the time in the world", is no longer a statement.

Young, old, rich, or poor, many are affected by our land's temperature and daily stresses. So what do you do? Get a check-up. Even if you are not interested in being in the care of a medical professional, search for a healthy alternative such as a wellness professional. Having problems with your dietary needs? Think about getting a coach or research a plan that will work for you. No one can afford to do absolutely nothing. Let's be wise and conscious...what is your heart saying to you? Are you stressed out over work or the lack of work? Are you concerned about your future? Do you have pressures that seem unbearable? Come on. Talk about it. Find someone you can trust. Our future depends on how our young people take care of themselves. We are leaving legacies for you, but you need to be here!
